INTAKE OF AROMATIC (FRAGRANT) INGREDIENTS IN FOODSTUFF AND BEVERAGES IN THE STATE OF IHRAAM |

Note 1. Food cooked with aromatic ingredients can be eaten without objection.
2. There is no objection to eating fragrant fruits, but to smell them is Makrooh.
3. Food cooked with fragrance is permissible even though the fragrance may predominate.
4. Eating of elachi or fragrant tobacco in betel leaves is subject to the same laws as outlined above in item (a), (b), and (c).
5. If a little fragrance is mixed with the food, which is not cooked, then even if it is consumed in a large quantity there will be no Jazaa, but if the fragrance continues to emit from the food, then it is Makrooh.
6. It is permissible to drink a beverage which does not have a fragrance.
