A] "Pedal" (Walking) Hujjaajj

Reconfirm your return flight before the commencement of the actual Hajj and get the printout if possible.  Also be absolutely certain of the departure terminal and time of departure.  If you are not sure which terminal you are departing from, DO NOT go to the Hajj Terminal first as you may not be able to leave it once you have entered it.  Thus, in such a situation it is better to go to the other terminal first.  Once you are at the correct terminal, make sure that your flight is departing from there!  Counter check again!

Inform the Muassassas office 3 days in advance of your departure.  Send a couple of your reps. with all your I.D.’s and AIR TRAVEL TICKETS.  This office may not process your departure formalities in the absence of re-confirmed return bookings.

On the day of departure, (i.e. 24 hours before your flight), arrange with the Muassassas office for transport to the airport.  Do not make private arrangements as the specified transporters are registered with the General Car Syndicate and Pilgrim Transport Companies (GCSPTC) and these vehicles display relevant  stickers which the private transporter will not have, hence causing unnecessary problems.

If your stay is longer than others in Makkah, then the group transport arranged by your agent may no longer be available.  In this case, a day before your departure for Jeddah, go to the Muassassas office and show them your ticket.  They will ask you to bring a taxi with a Saudi driver which is not difficult to find.  Appropriate documentation for your departure will follow suit.

After packing your goods onto the bus, you should all depart in the bus for the Muassassas office where your reps. will complete the departure formalities.  This can take about 1-2 hours.

The passports will again be identified by your reps. and handed over to the driver who will also be issued with other official documents pertaining to your group.

Make sure the driver knows which terminal you are supposed to depart from, e.g. Ethiopian Airlines departs from International Terminal, (Foreign Airlines, North Terminal), and Saudi Arabia Airlines from Saudia International Terminal, (South Terminal).  These two are distinct terminal buildings.  Other airlines e.g. Egypt Air, depart from Hajj Terminal.

Note that the Hajj office at the North Terminal, (Foreign Airlines), is at Entrance No. 3.
